Hello,
We have a physical 2 node 2008 R2 SQL Cluster configured with SAN storage for each cluster resource (Quorum, Instances, etc. The host OS's are local storage). We need to migrate this from one SAN to another with minimal downtime and as safe as possible. Is there a supported way of doing this?
We had considered shutting down all the existing instances and re-lettering their partitions, exposing the 2nd SAN storage and adding the new SAN storage as the old partition letters, and then robocopying the partitons over prior to restarting the services. Will this work?
Should we recreate instances from backups instead? Any experience or suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you,
