What if you just do a shutdown server in a cluster withought stopping the cluster groups?

What if you just do a shutdown on a Windows 2008 R2 server with SQL 2008 R2, both in a cluster, without stopping the cluster groups?

Go to start menu and click shutdown of first node then do the same on the second node - would it still shutdown gracefully?
